Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister Hyun-soo Kim, hereinafter MAFRA) announced that 'Damyang's bamboo farm' has been listed in the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS), operated by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

❍ At the final deliberation of the Scientific Advice Group (SAG) of the FAO's Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS)

- Contributing to livelihood of local residents with bamboo crafts using bamboo shoots and bamboo produced from the bamboo farm at the back of 254 natural villages

- Using eco-friendly lands leading from bamboo farm to residential area, farms and rivers

- Traditional farming technology such as traditional forest fertilization and thinning using rice bran and leaf mold and bamboo craft

- In recognition for the cultural and social values such as the beautiful farming cultural scenery and the bamboo god festival that wishes for the bamboo growth, 'Damyang Bamboo Farm' has been decided for the first time as a bamboo item to be listed in the GIAHS.
