Training for 208 young people to start up smart-farm business

The 'Smart Farm Youth Entrepreneurship Training' finally selected 208 young people with the aim of nurturing smart-farm professionals.

* 52 trainees are assigned to regional training centers in Gimje, Jeollabuk-do, Goheung, Jeollanam-do, Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Miryang, and Gyeongnam

◦ 625 young people applied for the recruitment of 208 trainees with 3:1 competition ratio, reflecting the high interest of young people in smart farms.

◦ The average age of the finally-selected trainees was 30.4 years. Those with non-agriculture majors accounted for 78.8%. The gender proportion of applicants were 78.4% and 21.6% for men and women respectively.

◈ The trainees receive the comprehensive training from the basics, hands-on experiences and practices and business management which are crucial to get employed by smart farms and start up their own business for up to one year and eight months.

◦ The training starts from August 2021 for 20 months at 「Smart Farm Youth Entrepreneurship Training Centers 」.

◈ The training is expected to nurture smart farm professionals who will lead the convergence of agriculture and information and communication technology ,and expand the inflow of young people to the agricultural and rural areas.
