Exhibition: 35 New Types of Korean Homegrown Wheat-based Food Products
Sejong, 22 August 2024 —The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) will hold an exhibition of Korean homegrown wheat-based food products at FOUND GREDO BAKERS, a bakery and café based in Nowon-gu, a residential district of Seoul, from 23 to 24 August.
The exhibition has been organized as part of the government project to support food processing companies in the entire process related to the production of Korean homegrown wheat-based food products, ranging from development of new products to production of prototypes and marketing. Nineteen companies, selected as the recipients of the support from the government project in 2024, will showcase 35 types of new food products such as protein chips, doughnuts, Korean-style corn dogs, makgeolli (Korean rice wine), etc.
Also, at a food tasting event, consumers will be given opportunities to taste and evaluate such food products. Diverse opinions from the consumers will be used for developing products and establishing marketing strategies.
The MAFRA and aT will also hold a meeting with the food processing companies participating in the exhibition to discuss the ways to promote consumption of Korean homegrown wheat and increase its competitiveness.
The MAFRA will continue to develop and carry out diverse programmes to make the value of high-quality Korean homegrown wheat more widely recognized inside and outside South Korea and boost its consumption.
