The Rice Show 2025 Presents Various Processed Rice-based Food Products and the Latest Trend in the Korean Industry
Sejong, 5 June 2025— The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) will hold the Rice Show 2025, the largest exhibition of processed rice-based food products, under the theme of “K-RICE FOOD in the Global Spotlight” from 10 to 13 June at KINTEX 1 in Ilsan New Town, Goyang-si (the city of Goyang), Gyeonggi-do (the province of Gyeonggi).
The Rice Show aims to showcase Korean processed rice-based food products to distribution companies from inside and outside South Korea and thus promote business-to-business (B2B) transactions. The trade show also provides the current status of the Korean industry for processed rice-based food products. Visitors can gain free admittance to the event when having registered in advance at the website of Seoul Food 2025 (www.seoulfood. kotra.biz), one of Asia’s largest F&B exhibition.
Booths provide an overview of the size and trend of the Korean industry for processed rice-based food products, as well as the current status of exports. In particular, the latest trend in the industry will be presented with fusion rice cakes (fruit-filled rice cakes, cream-filled rice cakes, etc.), sugar-free food products, and honey-filled rice cakes. Recently, a cereal version of honey-filled rice cakes has grown rapidly popular abroad. The MAFRA will also designate and exhibit 12 types of high-quality processed rice-based food products in terms of four categories of health and nutrition, creativity and innovation, sustainability, and technological convergence. A wide range of processed rice-based food products will be exhibited by 45 companies as well.
Director General Sang-moon Byun of the MAFRA’s Food Grain Policy Bureau said: “Exports of Korean processed rice-based food products have continued to grow rapidly. In 2019, the exports were at USD 100 million, but in 2024 the exports surpassed USD 300 million. We will make more efforts to ensure that Korean processed rice-based food products can capture more attention from global markets. To this end, we will continue to discover high-quality processed rice-based food products and provide support for Korean companies to expand their markets.”
