S. Korea Runs Agriculture-related Internship Programmes for the Youth
Sejong, 10 June 2025— The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) will receive applications for internships at agriculture-related businesses, starting from 10 June 2025. Anyone aged 18 to 34 years, including undergraduates, students taking leave of absence, job-seeking graduates, etc., can apply for the internships through the website of www.godsaeng.or.kr. The application period runs from 10 June to 4 July.
Participants at last year’s internship programmes carried out diverse duties such as image production, market surveys, communication with customers, while working at high-growth agricultural industries such as smart farms and food-tech companies.
The MAFRA will select a total of 22 interns through cooperation with five companies such smart farms, rural businesses, food-tech companies, etc. The selected interns will work in such companies for approximately three weeks after having completed an orientation session.
One Acre Farm, a smart farm company, provides an opportunity for interns to grow crops on a vertical farm, manage distribution, and assist with planning. Meta Farmers, a developer of artificial intelligence-based agricultural robots, provides an opportunity for interns to experience development of business strategies. At Red Rose Bean, a dessert maker, interns will be given duties of developing red bean-based low-sugar desserts and assisting with sales. At Wiro-yakbang, a café based in Yeongwol-gun (the county of Yeongwol), Gangwong-do (the province of Gangwon), interns can accumulate the experience of creating digital content for marketing of Korean mugwort-based desserts. Chobless, a food-tech startup, provides an opportunity for interns to earn work experience in development of healthy foods for helping check blood sugar levels, operation of stores, and creating SNS content.
