Minister Chung Hwang-keun of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea visited the cultural festival for pets entitled "Nolmeong Meohani" in Korean (or "Hangout with dogs" in a liberal translation into English) which was held in Starfield Goyang on September 2 (Saturday).  
  
At the event, Minister Chung Hwang-keun saw pet-related technologies ("Pet Tech") related to the recently announced「Measures to nurture pet-related industries」, food for pets ("Pet Food") and healthcare for pets ("Pet Healthcare") and pet-related service ("Pet service") products with citizens.   
 
Also, the Minister participated in a policy event to announce the revised「Animal Protection Act｣ which includes strengthened obligations of pet owners to take care of their pets, the hurdle race and the OX Quiz event with questions about etiquette of taking care of pets. 

Minister Chung Hwang-keun said, "In the run up to Chuseok, Korean Thanksgiving Day, which is one of the biggest national holidays, we prepared an event for people to enjoy the mood of the holiday with our family members, or pets, in advance. Going forward, the government will continue to work hard to realize "One-Welfare" where people and pets are all happy in order to live up to high expectations of a growing number of pet owners for enhancing animal welfare."
