Korean Sool Grand Festival 2025 Presents Traditional Alcoholic Beverages of the Highest Quality
Sejong, 13 November 2025— The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) will hold the Korean Sool Grand Festival 2025 at aT Centre in Seoul from 14 to 16 November. Marking its 15th anniversary this year, the Korean Sool Grand Festival is the Republic of Korea’s largest traditional Korean alcoholic beverage event, attracting over 20,000 visitors. The event aims to raise consumers’ awareness of the diversity and value of traditional Korean alcoholic beverages and foster a sustainable growth of the industry.
This year’s festival will be held on the largest scale ever, with 122 breweries, distilleries, and wineries coming from across the nation. A variety of hands-on experience programmes—such as traditional alcoholic beverage making—will allow consumers to discover the charms of traditional Korean alcoholic beverages. At the opening ceremony on 14 November, awards will be presented to 18 prize-winning products selected through the 2025 Korean Sool Award (held from 23 June to 25 July), which is the government-hosted competition to select and award Korea’s traditional alcoholic beverages of the most excellent quality.
From 15 to 16 November, the festival will feature events such as the Korean Sool Auction Show, where visitors can purchase limited-editions of traditional Korean alcoholic beverages, as well as a seminar on the alcoholic beverage industry trends. This seminar brings together experts to discuss global market trends, as well as the growth directions and development goals of the Korean alcoholic beverage industry. The festival will also feature an open consulting service for brewing business.
Meanwhile, the Tiger Citron Draft Makgeolli (low-alcohol “takju”), which was made by BHD Brewery, was selected as the official drink for toasting for the APEC Summit and received high praise from world leaders.
H.E. Song Miryung, Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said: “I hope that traditional Korean alcoholic beverages will become a centrepiece of K-Food and reach dining tables around the world.”
