To provide reliable information for urban tourists visiting rural areas and encourage rural tourism businesses to voluntarily improve service quality
Project
(Foundation for rural tourism) Introduce rural-tourism grade system, develop tour contents, provide capacity-building trainings, support for getting insured, and support administration offices in experience farm villages, setting the groundwork for promoting rural tourism
(Grading system) Evaluate rural tourism villages, tourism farms, guesthouses in farming and fishing villages by 4 categories including education/service, experiences, accommodation and food, and grade them by each category from 1 to 3 levels including sub-level. And disclose the evaluation results while marketing and promoting the high-rated.
(Tourism contents) Encourage rural residents or local authorities to develop and operate distinctive contents from local food, accommodation and experiences
(Capacity building) Provide experience-village operators and guesthouse owners with training on policy directions, service, safety/hygiene and tourism programs
(Insurance support) Support experience villages by paying premiums of safety and fire insurances to ensure safety of travelers.
(Administration office support) Support the head of administration office to operate, manage and promote the experience village and its tour programs in order to bolster the village operation.
(Domestic and foreign tourists) Provide rural tourism information, operate tour programs, support field trips of elementary and middle school students, and attract more foreign tourists and urban citizens visiting rural areas.
(Information and promotion) Operate an informative website (Well-chon) with rural tourism information and promote it online and offline.
(Rural tourism programs) Support travel agencies in and out of Korea to develop and operate rural tourism programs for domestic and foreign travelers.
(Field trips to rural areas) Support rural field trips in elementary school curriculum and support rural occupational field trips for middle school students under exam-free semester system
