◇ Low Carbon Agricultural and Livestock Goods Certification is an attestation of reducing greenhouse gas emissions for agricultural and livestock goods throughout production by using low carbon agricultural technology*. This system aims to encourage farmers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide an option to consume ethically
* Low carbon agricultural technology: Agricultural methods and technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the use of fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural materials, and energy throughout agricultural production
Support: Certification training for farmers, consulting for drafting greenhouse gas calculation report and certification process in line with Green Card*, and distribution of certified goods * Accumulate up to 9% as points when a consumer purchases low carbon agricultural goods using Green Card

Implementation of Low Carbon Agricultural and Livestock Goods Certification
① (Application) Any farm which wishes to get certified (business entity) submits the application form and the greenhouse gas calculation report to the certification organization. * Application criteria: An eco-friendly and GAP-certified agricultural product adopts low carbon agriculture technology. Its greenhouse gas emissions can be calculated. * Calculation report: Calculate and evaluate greenhouse gas emissions generated in the process of growing agricultural produce by reflecting the farmer's farming diary and using low-carbon agricultural technology (Provided consulting for farmers)
② (Screening) review the documentation, performs due diligence, and drafts and submits the report to the certification organization(Foundation of Agri. Tech. Commercialization & Transfer).
③ (Deliberate) The certification organization forms a deliberation committee to review the suitability of certification on the screening result
Certification standard In case of less emissions compared with 5-year average emissions of the same item nationwide * Certification standard will be reviewed for reinforcement after accumulating the baseline data for calculating greenhouse gas emissions
④ (Indication) Indicate a certification mark if complies with certification criteria and approved as low carbon agricultural goods from screening
Certification Logo To enhance credibility of consumers, the standard for ‘National certification on agricultural food products’ has been applied
- Certification validity period: 2 years
⑤ (Post-certification management) Perform one or more follow-ups each year on certified goods * (Production) Check if low carbon cultivation methods and cultivated items are consistent and agricultural materials (Distribution) Check if there are any non-certified agricultural goods, and if the certification mark and descriptions are appropriate
